An Advance Tender Notice (ATN) has been released for a main works contractor to complete upgrade works at Ballarat’s Eureka Stadium.

The $150 million investment is designed to prepare Eureka for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Ballarat will play a key role during the games, hosting athletics, boxing and mountain biking events.

Upgrades to Eureka Stadium will include a new athletics track, and expansions to accommodate an extra 5,000 permanent seats. Additional temporary seating and a competition standard track will also be installed in preparation for the Commonwealth Games.

Cox Architecture and Morton and Co Architects have been appointed to design the upgrades.

Minister for Commonwealth Games Delivery Jacinta Allan said, “This is a unique opportunity for the construction industry to get involved in the delivery of the venue, generating local jobs and contributing billions of dollars into Victoria’s economy.”

The EOI process will open in May 2023. Interested parties can register via the Buying for Victoria website.
