Melbourne’s north-west will soon house almost 1,000 new families thanks to two residential developments in Craigieburn and Greenvale.
Australian company Potter George Group splurged $76 million on a 25.6ha site on Mickleham Road in Craigieburn, to be known as Montview Estate. Construction is expected to begin in July 2023, with completion slated for 2028.
The group is developing a second greenfield site in Melbourne’s west at Bonnie Brook, offering 450 lots with parkland. That development is due to be completed in 2027.
Meanwhile, Jinding has lodged plans for a 430-lot development in Greenvale. The Chinese-Australian company purchased the 29ha site – also on Mickelham Road – in 2021, for $93 million. At completion, the project is estimated to be worth $228 million.
Jinding made headlines late last year after purchasing the Witches in Britches restaurant site in West Melbourne. It is the investment and development firm’s first commercial acquisition.
In the residential space, Jinding has multiple large-scale projects in development, including over 1,000 lots and a town centre at The Patch, in Wollert.
