Nightingale Village added another award to its pool room in November: Industry Leader in the Sustainable Places category at the 2023 Premier’s Sustainability Awards.

The Brunswick development has now received over 20 awards and commendations in 2023 alone – a very impressive feat.

So, what makes this development so special?

To begin with, six different architects collaborated to design Nightingale Village: Architecture Architecture, Austin Maynard Architects, Breathe, Clare Cousins Architects, Hayball, and Kennedy Nolan.

Each firm was responsible for its own building, resulting in a village comprising 203 homes and 8 commercial, street-level tenancies across six towers. Nightingale allocated 27 of those homes to community housing providers (which equates to 13% of homes on the site).

Then there are the impressive sustainability credentials. These vary across the six buildings, but notable features include rainwater collection for common-use areas and commercial tenancy toilets, hydronic heater panels, communal veggie gardens and high NatHERS ratings.
